Medicinal properties of dried rose hips have been known in Central Asia since XV century. Back then rosehips were highly valued and were given out for treatment by special permission, only to noble people.
Dried rosehip contains sugars, pectin, tannins, citric acid, malic acid and other organic acids, vitamin C, carotene, vitamins B, K, P, flavonol glucosides kaempferol and quercetin, pigments lycopene and rubixanthin.
